Visual Inspections: During the visual inspection, our mold technician examines the area in question for common indicators of mold. These may or may not include musty or earthy odors, black spots, water damage, leaks, etc. At this stage, he will also look for the cause or the source of mold growth. Often, mold growth is the result of high humidity and moisture levels, dampness, flooding, leaks, and poor air circulation.
Air Quality Testing: Our mold technician will take an air sample from the room. The sample will be sent to an accredited lab and the results will reveal exactly the type of mold spores present in your space and in what concentrations. You will receive a report of the results and our professional recommendation regarding how to proceed.
Infrared Camera Inspections: Our mold technician will use an infrared camera to take thermal images of your home. These images will reveal whether you have mold growing behind walls, ceilings, floors and any hard-to-reach spaces. It will also reveal any sources faulty construction, leaks, water intrusion, poor ventilation, and so on. The convenience of infrared inspections is that you do not have to break down walls to find out if you have a mold problem.
Surface Sampling: Our mold technician will use a special sticky tape to take a sample from the suspected surface. He will then send the sample to an accredited lab for analysis. The results will reveal what mold (if any) is present on that specific surface. However, the results are limited to that surface and will not show if you have mold growing in other areas of the same room. It is also less accurate in telling you the concentrations of mold present.
Mold Dog Inspections: Due to their innate developed sense of smell, dogs can sniff out almost anything. We have trained our dogs to identify the most common types of mold found in indoor environments. The mold dogs are specially trained and certified annually to ensure quality and accuracy. They will be able to locate the source of mold quickly and efficiently without unnecessary damage to walls, floors, and other structural components.
